Letter to the Editor |

Dear Sir,
I was fascinated to read John Mews recent letter regarding the Orthologic A Company award. I must say that I aspire to treat cases to this standard and agree with Ian Lund that the case reports presented in the BDJ are an invaluable resource in that endeavour.
I do agree with Mr Mews that it is from our failures that we learn the most and greater systematic review of our results could only be a positive development while it is both uncomfortable and informative.
It is precisely such a process that would enable us to categorise our failures into those which grew unfavourably from those where our ineptitude and our patient's unwillingness to comply conspired to compromise the result. It is of course, infinitely easier to agree the merits of such a scheme than to actually do it.
