Dear Sir
Having used Fuji LC as our main bonding agent for the past 3 years I have found the clinical success rate of the material much greater than suggested in the above article. Our audited results of breakdowns attending the department due to bracket failure reduced by 15 per cent on changing to Fuji. The material was used after etching for 30 seconds using gel etch and bonding on to a surface moistened by either saliva or water. This was used in all clinical situations including orthognathic patients with no reported bracket failure at operation. The benefits we perceived from using the material were the lack of necessity for a dry field, the cariostatic effect of the fluoride release, and the ease of material removal from the tooth surface at debonding.
